An image I created for an SEO article I wrote in 2011.
Earlier this month, I wrote a post called “The Rise and Fall of SEO” that argued that SEO as we know it may be a dying animal.
Of course, that argument is based on a subjective premise; SEO “as we know it” is the operative phrase here. To put it simply, as long as there are search engines (like Google and Bing), there will always be search engine optimization (SEO). So, the nature of what SEO IS may not change, but the nature of how SEO is performed WILL.

A business tech article I wrote for Vistage Connect (I created the image, too!)
As a professional writer, editor, and content manager, I’m proud to say that versatility is one of my key strengths. Over the course of my career, I’ve worked in many fields — health care, PR, online gaming, and business executive coaching, just to name a few.
But perhaps the most instructive and illuminating period of my career was the two years I spent writing for Aplus.Net Internet Services, an online business solutions provider and web hosting company launched in San Diego and now based in Kansas.
"Why Do Small Businesses Hate SEO?"
Not too long ago, when it came to online marketing and content writing, the conversation seemed to begin and end with three magic letters: SEO.
Times have changes, though, as they always do. Today, the current thinking among web writers and online marketers has shifted dramatically when it comes to SEO.
Those brave new ideas amount to this: SEO as we know it has changed so much in recent years, that its traditional use may no longer be an effective solution to getting the kind of quality web traffic upon which real online success depends.

One of my most prestigious freelance clients has been Vistage International, Inc., a San Diego-based company that offers coaching and peer session networking for CEOs and executives.
For Vistage, I helped launch a new corollary brand and website, Vistage Connect, where I edited and/or wrote some 600 articles and loaded them into a somewhat touchy content management system. (And lemme tell ya, I know a lot more about HTML now!)
